Bacterial disease
Money Plant Bacterial Wilt
A bacterial infection that makes money plant leaves wilt and yellow even when the soil is moist, with darkening stems.

Symptoms
- Leaves wilting and yellowing even though the soil is wet
- Dark, water-soaked patches on leaves
- Stems turning brown or black, sometimes soft and smelly
What causes it
Bacteria spread in water, soil, contaminated tools and cuttings, and thrive in warm, waterlogged conditions.
What you can do
- Keep the plant away from other houseplants.
- Cut away affected parts with tools cleaned in alcohol between cuts.
- If most stems are affected, root a few healthy cuttings in fresh water or mix and discard the rest.
- Do not reuse the old soil, and water only when the top of the mix is dry.
