Nutrient problem
Money Plant Manganese Toxicity
Leaf damage from too much manganese in the potting mix, often linked to acidic soil, heavy feeding or waterlogging.

Symptoms
- Small brown or black specks on the leaves
- Yellowing between the veins
- Crinkled or distorted leaves, often older ones first
What causes it
Manganese builds up when the mix is very acidic, stays waterlogged, or gets too much fertiliser or micronutrient feed.
What you can do
- Flush the pot with plenty of plain water and let it drain fully.
- Repot into fresh, well-draining potting mix if the problem continues.
- Feed less often, with a balanced houseplant fertiliser at half strength.
- Water only when the top of the mix has dried.
