Fungal disease
Snake Plant Anthracnose
A fungal disease that leaves sunken brown or tan spots on snake plant leaves, usually linked to wet leaves and overwatering.

Symptoms
- Sunken, brown or tan spots with darker edges
- A yellow halo around some spots
- Spots spreading and merging on damp leaves
What causes it
The fungus spreads in splashing water and takes hold when leaves stay wet and the air is humid.
What you can do
- Remove badly affected leaves with clean scissors and bin them rather than composting.
- Water the soil, not the leaves, and water in the morning so any splashes dry quickly.
- Water only when the mix is completely dry; snake plants need very little water.
- Keep the plant in bright, indirect light with air movement.
